From Moussor to Tignon (FMTT) is a photographic essay by Juliana Kasumu. This body of work explores the history of headwraps worn by free women of color as forms of both political and fashion statements. In this series, Kasumu investigates the intersectionality between West African and African-American culture, highlighting a contemporary re-appropriation of traditional African identities.
